WIENER KLASSIKFESTIVAL 2026

Seven summer evenings at the Minoritenkirche in Vienna: from 24 July to 2 August, the Wiener Klassikfestival presents its third edition.

The resident orchestra Les Orpheistes is under the artistic direction of Mario Hossen, with Martin Sieghart as Conductor in Residence and Sophie Dervaux as a long-standing partner of the concert series. The programme features Viennese Classicism, High Baroque, and a selection of rarities rarely encountered in the concert hall.

The opening concert is shaped by Selina Ott – ECHO Klassik Award winner and one of the leading trumpeters of her generation – together with Les Orpheistes under Martin Sieghart, performing works by Corelli, Tartini, Ravel, Defaye and Planel.

On 26 July, an evening of chamber music brings together the Varga Quartett Wien and pianist Adela Liculescu with works by Mozart, Liszt and Brahms.

Premiering on 29 July at 10 pm: the Late Night Concert Vienna – Pärt’s “Spiegel im Spiegel”, Barber’s Adagio for Strings, works by Bach and Handel, and Mozart’s “Laudate Dominum”, performed in the half-light of the Minoritenkirche.

On 31 July and 1 August, Iván Martín – one of Spain’s most distinguished pianists – takes on both roles at once: soloist and conductor from the keyboard, in Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major and Mozart’s Symphony No. 29. On 2 August he joins violinist Mario Hossen for “Bach & Paganini meet Schumann”, placing Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas alongside Paganini’s 24 Caprices – complemented by Schumann’s rarely heard piano accompaniments to the Caprices.
